about

The Bug
A 1920's style ragtime tune ,intended for a cold and flu commercial.
The song evolved into a full song and was pending selection in an American gangster movie of the roaring 20's.
It took on the idea of being in love for the first time, you know when you can't think straight.
I'd love to see this song in a movie or picked up by a major recording artist doing the 1920's style songs.

lyrics

The Bug
by Anthony Lee @2011

You got the hot potato
your the ripe tomato(blushing)
Baby you got the bug
you feel a little oohy
a little gooey oohy
Baby you got the bug

when ya feet start a tapping and ya can't stand still
You get a little won't then you geta little will
you can tell a fella
hell ya might as wella
baby you got the bug

( short solo)

Oh you got a fever
Everytime you meet her
Baby you got the bug
You feeling kind of gooey
A little oohy oohy
Baby you got the bug

When you toes start tappin and ya can't stand still
you get a little won't then you get a little will
you can tell a fella
hell ya might as wella
baby you got the bug

Solo 16 bars

Mid 8
I know that I'm right
I see it most every night so
I know that you know
Now it's time to let those feelings show

Oh you got the fever
Everytime you meet her
Baby you got the bug
You feeling kind of gooey
A little oohy oohy
Baby you got the bug

when ya feet start a tapping and ya can't stand still
You get a little won't then you geta little will
you can tell a fella
hell ya might as wella
baby you got the bug

Same note verse
You got a little twinkle in your eye again
You got a little giggle and you smile again
You got a little steppin in your step again
you gotta feelin all a little better again

You got the hot potato
your the ripe tomato(blushing)
Baby you got the bug
you feel a little oohy
a little gooey oohy
Baby you got the bug

when ya feet start a tapping and ya can't stand still
You get a little won't then you geta little will
you can tell a fella
hell ya might as wella
baby you got the bug
baby you got the bug
baby you got the bug
